OUR SERVICES

YPEC is a Community Interest Company; Our social purpose to support as many children and young people as possible to develop or enhance their personal skills and attributes, so they feel empowered to make positive and healthy behavioural choices.

We are affiliated with the Research and Consultancy company Insight Now, who are a member of the Market Research Society. We can support consultation, engagement and research methods with children and young people, for ex: implementation of surveys, focus groups, workshops, etc, providing reports and recommendations.

Programmes incorporating the principles of PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) with the focus on Relationship, Sex and Health Education (RSHE.) Including developing and delivering professional training workshops, RSHE sessions, RSHE consultation and lesson design plans.


Also:


Engagement and research programmes, organising and conducting research methods – focus groups / one to one interviews, etc to empower children and young people, giving them a voice.

IMPORTANCE OF POSITIVE SEXUAL HEALTH

To explore the importance of positive sexual health, increase knowledge around sexually transmitted infections, contraception methods and accessing services.

  • To recognise the importance of positive sexual health and what that means.

  • Recognise different sexually transmitted infections, symptoms, and possible treatments.

  • Greater understanding of the different contraception methods, in particular condoms and how to use them.

  • Explore pregnancy and accessing services and support.

  • Dispel embarrassment around accessing sexual health services.

To increase awareness and understanding of how the media distorts perceptions of sex and relationships, and what impact this can have.

  • Explore how the media portrays sex and relationships, through TV, films, social media etc, the role of intimacy coordinators, etc.

  • Examine what really happens in the sex industry

  • Analyse the impact of pornography on perceptions of sex and relationships.
